When is my appointment?

After we receive and review your Initial Enrollment Forms, we will contact you to schedule your first appointment.  Your appointment and fees will depend on the services you need. In order for us to understand which services you need; we review the Service Referral Form that is submitted to us by your referring agency.

Your initial appointment may be a Comprehensive Evaluation or an Orientation session.

What exactly do I need to do?

PreTrial Intervention

Prior to enrolling into your treatment program, you are required to attend a in-depth Behavioral Health Screening evaluation to determine appropriate treatment services. This evaluation helps identify any concerns that you may need help with. It may be beneficial for both you and your referring agency to understand the nature and cause of any difficulties affecting your daily functioning so that appropriate recommendations and treatments may be offered. Evaluations will be administered with structured clinical interviews and psychometric instruments, such as:

·  biopsychosocial assessment

·  an alcohol and drug assessment

·  a hostility/aggression assessment

·  a risk assessment

·  drug screening

Following your evaluation, you will be scheduled for individual, group, or a combination of individual and group sessions. The frequency of treatment sessions, number of sessions, goals, type of counseling and any alternative counseling methods, will depend on several factors, to include: your current circumstances, your overall goals, and any guidelines that may be placed on you by the court system, legal system, and/or Department of Social Services.

Intervention Program

There are several instances in which you may be ordered directly into an intervention program by Domestic Violence Court or General Sessions.  If you are referred directly to a program, the following will apply:

Anger Management Program / Batterers Intervention Program

1. You are required to attend a program enrollment/orientation session. During this session, a Behavioral Health Screening will be administered, and all applicable enrollment forms will be completed. Information about your program will be provided to you. If your program requires a drug screen, you will be administered a 12-panel instant drug screen during this session.

2. Following your orientation, you will be scheduled for treatment sessions.

Substance Use Services: Depending on the Referral we receive by your referring agency, the following will apply:

  • If your referral ONLY indicates: Substance Use Servies

1. You are required to attend a program enrollment/orientation session.  During this session, a Behavioral Health Screening will be administered, and all applicable enrollment forms will be completed. If your program requires a drug screen, you will be administered a 12-panel instant drug screen during this session.

2. Following your orientation, you will be scheduled for a Level 0.5 program.

  • If your referral indicates an Evaluation is required to determine services:

1. You must attend a Comprehensive Evaluation to determine appropriate treatment services. This evaluation helps identify any concerns that you may need help with.

2. Evaluations will include a 12-panel drug screen.

 3. Following your evaluation, you will be recommended for or scheduled for individual, group, or a combination of individual and group sessions. Your treatment may consist of a Leval 0.5 or 1.0 program. The frequency of treatment sessions, number of sessions, goals, type of counseling and any alternative counseling methods, will depend on several factors, to include: your current circumstances, your overall goals, and any guidelines that may be placed on you by the court system, legal system, and/or Department of Social Services.

Mental Health Services: If your referral indicates Mental Health services, you must attend a comprehensive evaluation to determine appropriate treatment services.

  • biopsychosocial assessment
  • an alcohol and drug assessment
  • a hostility/aggression assessment

If participating in a PreTrial Intervention program, your sessions will be in person. There are instances in which in-person sessions are not feasible and virtual sessions may be consisted.

We do accept some health insurance policies. If you have a health insurance policy, it may provide some coverage for behavioral health services.  Not all programs are eligible to use health insurance policy for payment. Insurance companies normally only pay for services that are deemed “medically necessary.” In therapy, medical necessity is established by diagnosing a client. Furthermore, we have to demonstrate that a client’s mental health condition is affecting and interfering with their overall functioning on a daily basis in a “clinically significant” manner.

If you have a health insurance coverage with a plan we accept and would like to use your health benefits for payment, the following will apply:

  • You are required to participate in a comprehensive evaluation in order to determine ‘medical necessity.
  • Your insurance will be billed under the appropriate Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) code, which may be different than the intervention program codes and fees.
  • You are responsible for any deductible, copayment, or any service that is not covered by your health policy. We will make every effort to provide you with information so that you can determine if self-pay may best meet your financial needs.

We are In-Network with the following Insurance policies.

Medicaid / Healthy Connections

South Carolina’s Medicaid program is managed through several health care plans.  We are approved to accept the following plans:

  • Absolute Total Care
  • Healthy Blue (BCBS)
  • Molina (currently pending approval)
  • Traditional, State Managed
  • We cannot accept: First Choice by Select Health, and Humana at this time

Commercial Insurance

  • Ambetter
